Upcoming shows in Ontario

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We have two shows coming up in late January, in Toronto and in St. Catharines. The program features favourites from our CD Uncharted Waters, with some from Vikings on Vacation and Nutcracker Nouveau mixed in for good measure. Marco’s Tafelmusik schedule makes it impossible for him to play for these shows, so we’re joined by ace guitarist David Woodhead; he’s played with us many times before and we look forward to renewing the bonds!

First we play in our home base, and here’s the info: January 25/17: Vikings in Uncharted Waters: Polaris in concert at Toronto’s Heliconian Hall, 35 Hazelton Avenue. 7:30 pm https://www.bemusednetwork.com/events/detail/317

Tickets bought in advance through the BeMused Network are a bit cheaper, if you’re looking to save money as well as assure yourself a seat!

Then we return to the Gallery Players of Niagara‘s series with the same program. Tickets are available from their website (link below). January 29/17: Uncharted Waters: in concert for the Gallery Players of Niagara, Cairns Recital Hall, First Ontario Performing Arts Centre, St. Catharines, ON. 2 pm. https://galleryplayers.ca/concerts/performances

Hope you can make it to one of these!

Nutcracker Haiku

We played a show in St. Catharines, ON, for the Gallery Players of Niagara on January 18/15. The show was Definitely Not the Nutcracker, well attended and happily received. There was a young man in the audience who introduced himself at intermission and said he’d written some haiku about the show, and he was kind enough to send it along for us to share here. Thanks, Adrian!

Not the Nutcracker
such a good show I must say
I’d see it again.

Tchaikovsky was good
but you seven made him great
Music is your gift.

Composers beware
Tchaikovsky was the first one
but how will Bach fare?

Adrian Carter Branderhorst
you are welcome 🙂
